I don't want to brag but I have 3 count them 3 credentials (Multiple Subjects, Secondary English, Administration, all with the ELL authorization) and a handful of years experience in varied places, positions, age groups, etc. I also have a MA degree, education-related.
So I'd say I'm quite qualified, but....

Sigh.
Don't let it get you down. This economy is having that effect on a lot of very good people. Might I suggest you consider offering your services to the homeschooling community in the meantime? It won't bring a full time paycheck (at least, for a good while), but it might just help. Homeschoolers often look for tutoring in a subject or two, test administration, and teachers for co-op classes. I have often thought Homeschoolers and laid off teachers could develop a partnership in a rough economy!
